A Brief Introduction to Shangluo City
Shangluo City, named because of Shang Mountain and Luo River, is located in the southeast of Shaanxi Province, the southern section of Qinling Mountain, the junction of three provinces of Huibei, Henan and Shaanxi. The city govens Shangzhou Area and six counties of Luonan, Danfeng, Shangnan, Shanyang, Zhen'an, Zhashui. There are totally 163 townships and the population of 2.43 million with the area of 19.3 thousand spuare kilos.
In the history, Shangluo was the key communication line from northwest to southeast, has the deep historical culture compatibling Qin and Chu. Ancient peots and writers such as Li Bai, Bai Juyi, Han Yu, Du Mu and so on once lodged here, has left behind the eternity beautiful line which enjoys great popularity massively. Modern renowned writer Jia Pingwa was born in Dihua Township, Danfeng County on the Danjiang river bank.
Shangluo has nice ecological environment with the rate of 62 percent forest cover. It's located across the two basins of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River, north temperate and subtropical zones transition, a mild climate, abundant rainfall, four distict seasons, and is semi-humid mountain climate. Shangluo has very convenient traffic only 100km from Xi’an.Along with the gradual improvements of infrastructure of transportation, electric power, communication, Shangluo has integrated Xi'an one-hour economic cycle. Shangzhou-Danfeng Circulation Industry Economy Zone has been authorized as the provincial level industrial park, and Shangluo has been integrated to the Guanzhong - Tianshui Economic Zone.
