Surface area
Over 35,000 hectares, of which 26,898 ha. are under cultivation, 1690 ha. are wooded, 2245 ha. are uncultivated (primarily moorland nature reserves and heath), with a built-up area measuring 4167 ha. The municipal border is over 80 kilometres in length, of which 38 kilometres is also a national border. Over 1000 kilometres of surfaced roads have been laid within the municipal boundaries.
